Hutchings on the “When” and “Why” in Digital Religion

In a recent podcast at The Religious Studies Project (http://www.religiousstudiesproject.com/) Professor Callum Brown, Professor of Religious and Cultural History at the University of Dundee, discusses how can we use historical approaches in the study of religion. Tim Hutchings, postdoctoral fellow at the University of Durham, offers a very interesting reflection to this interview in relation to the study of religion and new media . In his response. "Connecting “When” and “Why” in Digital Religion", he argues scholars of Digital Religion offer a"distinctively sociological way of using history" to approach religious phenomena in new media culture.
