Bio Statement:
I am a postdoc at the Polish Academy of Sciences, Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology, currently part of the Beethoven 2 project (joint DFG/ Polish NCN grant) on religious minorities and the media. I'm a graduate from the University of Warsaw, Poland where I researched Catholic internet forums. My PhD dissertation entitled "Virtual communities of the users of Catholic internet forums" focused on such issues as community and authority-building among the users, different modes of religiosity and its expression online. My secondary research interests include religion and popular culture as well as religious symbols in the media, as well as digital media and its influence on societal transformations (through mediatisation). In 2017-2018 I was part of the Horizon 2020 Next Generation Internet project, where I conducted a qualitative study of narratives concerning the emerging technologies and their societal impact. In 2014 I was a visiting researcher at the Uppsala Religion and Society Research Centre at Uppsala Univ. under the supervision of prof. Mia Lovheim. In 2013 I have received a grant funded by the National Science Centre in Poland (NCN) in the Preludium 5 competition (2013/09/N/HS6/03037). I am a Communications Officer of the European Sociological Association's Research Network 34 Sociology of Religions, and a member of the Polish Sociological Association's Sociology of Religion Section.
