Bio Statement: 
Oliver Steffen, MA, graduated in Science of Religion at the University of Berne, Switzerland, where he has done research in the relationship of digital games and religion from 2006 to 2009, resulting in a term paper on religion in "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" (2006). In his MA thesis (2008) as well as in contributions to anthologies on (digital) games and religion (forthc. 2012), he is interested in methods combining digital games studies and religious studies. As a doctoral student since 2010, he conducts the research project “Between ‘God Mode’ and ‘God Mood’. Religion in Computer Games and the Meaning of Religion for Gamers” (http://www.god-mode.ch), funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. He regularly reviews religious games and games with religious contents for ref.ch, the internet portal of the Swiss protestants.
