Steve Knowles

I am Lecturer in Religion and Popular Culture in the University of Chester. My research interests include contemporary apocalyptic beliefs with a specific interest in Christian fundamentalist online communities. I have published work in the field of contemporary and postmodern theology, religion and music and I am currently working on a project analysing the correlation between the idea of 'world risk society' and apocalypticm. I have also written on and presented papers on the emergence of alternative religious authority on the Internet
