Bio Statement: 
Tim Hutchings is a sociologist of religion, media and culture. He received his PhD (“Creating Church Online”) from Durham University (UK) in 2010. His postdoctoral research included studies of online evangelism, digital Bibles, death and grief. He joined the University of Nottingham in 2018, and now teaches undergraduate courses in religious media ethics, interfaith relations and the study of religion. Dr Hutchings’ is the author of the monograph "Creating Church Online: Ritual, Community and New Media" (Routledge 2017), and the lead editor of the volumes "Materiality and the Study of Religion" (Routledge 2016, with Jo McKenzie) and "Introduction to the Digital Humanities: Christianity" (De Gruyter, forthcoming, with Claire Clivaz). He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Religion, Media and Digital Culture, launched January 2012. RMDC is published by Brill in collaboration with the International Society for Media, Religion and Culture.
