Bio Statement: 
Vit Sisler is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague, where he defended his doctoral thesis on the production of Islamic knowledge and construction of Muslim identity in the digital age. He teaches at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship and the department of New Media Studies. His research deals with the problematic of contemporary Islamic law, the relation between Islam and digital media, normative frameworks in cyberspace, and the topic of educational and political videogames. Vit Sisler was a visiting Fulbright scholar at the Buffett Center for International and Comparative Studies at Northwestern University in 2008-2009. He is also founder and editor-in-chief of Digital Islam, a research project on Islam, the Middle East and digital media, and editor of CyberOrient, a peer reviewed journal of the virtual Middle East published by the Middle East Section of the American Anthropological Association in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague.
